The new £8m Junction on the M1 near Bolsover is now officially open to traffic!
 junction_29a.jpg
Junction 29A will serve the new commercial and industrial site at Markham Vale. The Junction, which is to be completed over the next two years, consists of a series of connecting roads.

The first commercial building on the site, Markham Vale Environment Centre, has already been opened and has units available for rent. Other new buildings are presently being considered for approval of planning permission. It's thought that up to 5000 new jobs may be created as businesses move onto the site.

The new junction was the brainchild of the MP for Bolsover, Dennis Skinner. who battled for a new junction in order to bring regeneration and much needed employment to the former coalfields blighted when the coal industry collapsed.

Drivers are warned to take care when using the new junction until they become used to the layout.
