Public telephone boxes could soon be disappearing from Derbyshire streets including some sited in Bolsover District. BT says that calls made from public telephone boxes have halved in the last three years and many no longer make a profit. BT has written to councils throughout Derbyshire informing them of its intention to remove telephone boxes.
Notices have been all ready been posted in those boxes earmarked for removal and council chiefs are urging members of the public to have their say in the consultation process before its too late. Residents have just 42 days to object about the plans to Bolsover District Council. For more information about the proposed plans or to raise an objection, telephone the council on 01246 242424.
