Well-dressing is an ancient custom peculiar to Derbyshire where each year the village wells are "dressed" with a picture made from flower petals, leaves and other natural materials set in a clay substance. Although a pagan ritual it was later absorbed into Christianity and the pictures often have a religious theme.

The table below shows the venues and dates of well-dressings within Bolsover District. Information is given in good faith but no responsibility can be accepted for errors or omissions.
